The state beaches of Santa Cruz are especially susceptible to natural disasters and extreme weather patterns due to climate change. The historic storms that struck the Santa Cruz area in the winter of 2022-2023 as a result of these extreme weather patterns heavily damaged Seacliff State Beach, spurring on an ongoing campaign to clean up the damage and plan for the future of the beach. This campaign started with a program known as the "Seacliff Recovery Fund," of which my contributions included a logo, ads, display signs and preparing interactive materials for a cleanup event shortly after the winter storms passed in 2023.
As donations continued over the following year, Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks began the "planning for the future" phase of the campaign in the Fall of 2024. This included evolving the "Seacliff Recovery Fund" to "Seacliff Resilience" with a new brand guide, logo, and informational website, SeacliffResilience.org. Seacliff Resilience was created to facilitate community workshops, surveys, and other planning events to help structure the rebuilding of beach facilities in conjunction with the community. The work culminated in a video created to describe the challenges the beach is facing and the importance of collecting this community input as the future of the State Beach is decided.

Video created with Luma Creative - I contributed intro and outro text animations.
